My 100 Favorite Records of 2013

I listened to a lot of stuff in these past 12 months, and it’s a good thing I did, because 2013 was one hell of a year for music. In fact, I can’t remember a year this good since I started writing about music professionally. Unsurprisingly, it also meant that it was a great year for discussion, disagreement and plain old enjoyment. I did a lot of all three, though not as much as I would have liked to— I still have a huge list of stuff I have yet to get around to. So despite that fact that it’s profoundly pointless to share not only another year-end list, but a really long year-end list, what the hell: Here are my 100 favorite records of 2013.
